Painless Parenting: How to Stop Screaming, Start Talking and Connect with Your Teen & Tween
This course is designed with your specific needs in mind. It has the research and anecdotes you’d find in parenting books – without having to read a 300 page book - with the knowledge shared in parenting classes – without having to get to them in-person after an already exhausting day.
It incorporates audio, video, downloadable worksheets and an interactive quiz, all waiting for you in your inbox, and you can consume the learning as often as you’d like – no need to frantically take notes, just go back and play it again!
By the end of this course you’ll:
1. Know how to use the platinum rule rather than the golden rule to create a home life where everyone in your family feels heard, respected and valued
2. Have the ability to super-charge the empathy circuitry in your brain
3. Acquire the active listening techniques you need to more effectively communicate with your teens/tweens, and
4. Gain confidence in your new skills through practice questions and an interactive quiz, all of which positively affect your ability to better connect with your teen/tween.
Over a two-week period, you’ll receive a lesson from the course each and every day (except for weekends – weekends are your lab time – the chance to actually use what you’ve been learning all week with your kids). These lessons contain a step-by-step guide on how to use empathy to better connect with your teen/tween. Most days you’ll receive videos as part of your learning – and don’t worry, I’ve intentionally kept them on the shorter side because I know you’re busy!
The videos are followed by downloadable worksheets with exercises and questions for you to complete, which’ll help you integrate what you’ve learned into your growing empathy practice, and will support the strengthening of your empathy brain’s circuitry.
On the second-to-last day of the course you’ll be given an interactive quiz. Finally, we’ll wrap it up and celebrate your successful completion of the course with some final reflections and questions to further strengthen the empathy circuitry in your brain.
